Emily Smith Endowed Student Support Fund in Environmental Politics recognizes undergraduate students who seek to undertake research on environmental politics and actively engage with the activities of the Center for Environmental Politics. This is awarded every quarter, and the recipient gets $500 stipend. Past recipients have presented their work at UW’s annual Mary Gates Undergraduate Research Symposium and also collaborated with the Center’s faculty to publish articles. If you are interested in being considered for the fellowship, please contact Professor Aseem Prakash.
Emily Smith was a University of Washington graduate, and distinguished environmental journalist, editor and author. While her UW degree was in art history, she revered the university and was excited to learn a few days before her passing that this fund was being established.
